30 April 2024 – From 15 to 17 April, the EMBO Global Investigator Network meeting gathered 48 EMBO Global and Young Investigators, EMBO Associate Members and representatives from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and A*STAR in Singapore. The meeting enabled networking between the new and current members of the EMBO Global Investigator Network and Young Investigator Programme who are based in Chile, India, Singapore or Taiwan. All participants presented and discussed their ongoing research work. Sessions and talks provided information on EMBO Programmes to support life scientists, scientific publishing, and the EMBO Press journals and their approaches to transparent publishing and Open Science.
The meeting was co-organized by EMBO, Yansong Miao, Yasunori Saheki and further researchers and staff from the Nanyang Technological University. “I thank EMBO for the privilege given to NTU to host the inaugural meeting of the Global Investigator Network. It was a fabulous meeting and I much enjoyed the sessions and engagements that I had the opportunity to attend,” said Kah Leong Lim, Associate Vice President, Biomedical & Life Sciences, from Nanyang Technological University.
The EMBO Global Investigator Network supports group leaders in Chile, India, Singapore or Taiwan. Global Investigators receive financial support for four years for training and networking activities, providing them with opportunities to form collaborations with scientists in their region and in Europe. They become part of an international network of more than 700 current and former EMBO Young Investigators, Global Investigators and Installation Grantees.
