11 February 2022 – Life scientists in, or wishing to go to, Japan can exceptionally apply to EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants, Core Facility Fellowships and New Venture Fellowships throughout 2022. They have been able to apply to these schemes for the last two years. The schemes support research and knowledge exchanges of scientists from groups in the 34 EMBC Member and Associate Member States, and Japan.
Until the end of 2022, the newly launched EMBO Advanced Collaboration Grants scheme will also consider applications from group leaders for research visits to laboratories in Japan. The applicant’s group needs to be in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, or Turkey.
In addition, EMBO and The Company of Biologists continue to co-fund workshops, practical and lecture courses in Japan as well as five other countries. The deadlines for applications are 1 March and 1 August 2022. Altogether these initiatives continue to provide opportunities for scientists and event organizers that further strengthen the ties between Japan and EMBO.
