18 October 2023 – EMBO deplores the abhorrent, brutal massacre and kidnapping of Israeli citizens carried out by Hamas terrorists on 7 October. Our thoughts are with all the innocent victims of the escalating conflict and their loved ones.
Israel is one of the founding countries of EMBO, an organization that is dedicated to promoting excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. EMBO is deeply proud of our community in Israel, which comprises over 60 eminent EMBO Members, in addition to EMBO Young Investigators and Postdoctoral Fellows. We are in contact with EMBO Young Investigators and Postdoctoral Fellows and are looking at how we can support them if their research is interrupted in the coming months.
