17 March 2022 – EMBO Press is pleased to accept proposals for a publishing partnership to take effect from 2024. EMBO Press is a leader in progressive publication and open science policy. Journal ownership and editorial independence will remain with EMBO under the new partnership arrangement. We currently publish four journals – two of which are fully open access (EMBO Molecular Medicine and Molecular Systems Biology) and two of which are hybrid (The EMBO Journal and EMBO Reports).
The partnership will require the successful transition to full open access from 2024. It also will offer the possibility of supporting a number of Open Science platforms and initiatives, including Review Commons, SourceData, SDash and Early Evidence Base (EEB), and the development of peer-reviewed preprints.
